Permian Basin Beer Scene

No time to brew?

Here are some great places to find quality ales and lagers in the Basin.

Bottle Shops and Grocery Stores:(click here for our Google maps bottle shop list)

The Cellar on University in Odessa between 336&JBS Parkway- amazing craft selection, the best in the area!

HEB - 2 Locations in the Midland:  and on 42nd in Odessa

Market Street & Albertsons - multiple Midland and Odessa locations. Market Street has the better selection

Pinkie's- Multiple locations in the area. The Midkiff Rd store in Midland and the JBS Parkway store in Odessa seem to have more beers than their other locations.

Moore Beverages - Nice small craft selection here

Watering Holes: (click here for our Google maps bar list)

The Beer Garden - On Highway 80 (business 20 for you West Texas noobs) east of the airport, close to A-1 mobile homes. Great tap selection, with plans to expand to 50 taps. This is the only place in the are that fills growlers. They are an open-air beer garden in a landscape nursery. They have a heated tent for those bad weather evenings.

The Hemingway - Cigar bar with locations in Midland and Odessa, good craft on tap, laid back atmosphere.

The Blue Door - Loop 250 and Garfield in Midland - cocktail lounge, solid selection of craft beer with frequent new additions

The Humidor of West Texas - University between JBS and 338 in Odessa. This is a BYOB Cigar Bar next door to The Cellar. They are very supportive of the club.

Restaurants: (click here for our Google maps restaurant list)

Grub Burger - Loop 250 and Midland Drive in Midland- gourmet burgers and a great beer selection.

Basin Burger - Colorado and Louisiana in Midland- another great burger joint with a decent beer selection.

Cork and Pig - HWY 191 between Billy Hext and 588 in Odessa- craft beer, good pizza, and a great steak.

Buffalo Wild Wings - On Grandview in Odessa and Wadley in Midland. Wings, beer, and more TVs than you can watch. Midland location now non-smoking.

Carino's - Chain restaurant with over 50 beers on tap. Some good stuff here

  1. Any suggestions as to a good spot to get a CO2 tank refilled? (especially one that won't make me exchange my shiny pretty aluminum tank for a dirty steel one :) )

  2. The Albertsons on Wadley and midland drive is under construction but being converted to a market street. I was in there yesterday and they have a wide selection of Karbach and Lakewood. Also Little Woodrows has over 50 beers on tap as well as a good bottle selection. Loop 250 and Holiday Hill Rd.
